SafeRide Health was founded in 2016 by Robbins Schrader, Whit Schrader, and Ben Salter in San Antonio, Texas. The founders recognized that millions of vulnerable patients were missing critical medical appointments simply because they had no reliable way to get there. North Haven Capital invested in SafeRide Health as the company was scaling its platform nationally. SafeRide had built a digitized network connecting Medicaid and Medicare patients to transportation, and was well on its way to delivering over one million rides per month.
